I officially have the redecorating bug! Once the weather warmed up, it did not take long for me to get the itch to freshen up my bedroom. For me, the most obvious place to start was by finding a new aesthetic.
Over the winter, my room had become a bit uninspired. So what better place to find inspiration for a relaxed and carefree style than online.
My creative soul was so happy to see so many beautiful bohemian bedrooms, so today I thought I would share my favorite ideas with you.
1. Unique Bohemian Bedroom with A Twist
I really LOVE the personal feel of this space! A written print right above the bed creates such a strong focal point and feels like a personal statement piece.
To me, the brick walls are the perfect backdrop for those pretty pink flowers and that seafoam green trunk. Just gorgeous!
2. Use Chic Fabrics
Okay, can we talk about fabrics? While so many things define the boho look, I think fabrics and textiles are maybe the most important and impactful. They can bring in all that color and pattern while also adding visual and tactile textures.
I adore the iconic look of a black and white rug with simple geometric lines. And the rumpled linen duvet with those russet-colored raw silk throw pillows? It strikes that perfect balance of elegant and relaxed. Perfection!
3. Creative Flair For Your Bedroom
There is something so soothing about the way the white and grey play off each other in this room. The contrast creates a beautiful balance for a totally cohesive look.
I also love how the black metallic pieces really make the white in the comforter and that amazing ceiling swing just pop. Such a clever use of color!
4. Contemporary Boho Décor
I’m not sure what I love most about this bedroom! The tasseled bedspread has just the right amount of detail to balance the beautiful bed frame, that woven lampshade, and the colorful rug.
The tufted fabric also brings in so much yummy texture to this super fashionable room. It’s all just stunning!
5. Make A Palette Bed
In boho design, it’s pretty common to see people skip a traditional bed frame and just put their mattress on the floor. If you’re like me and prefer it to be a little elevated, a pallet bed frame is such a great middle ground!
You can sometimes find secondhand pallets for a great price, but I think it’s worth it to buy new ones so you know they are sturdy and clean. After that, it’s just about finding a DIY pallet bed tutorial that works for you.
Even a beginner DIYer can totally handle this low-impact project!
6. Go All Natural With Your Room
I am a HUGE fan of hanging fixtures because they add so much dimension to any room.
This huge wooden piece just melts into the beige walls, which allows all of those gorgeous plants to stand out and really brings your attention to the natural accents. I love every detail!
7. Use Light To Make Colors Pop
Isn’t this just stunning?! All of that natural light just splashes the vibrant fuchsia pink and turquoise against those clean white walls.
And the intricate details in the chandelier pull this whole eclectic room together while adding tons of cultural character. It just works!
8. Unique Bed Frame
This bedroom has such a simple color palette, using only two colors, and I just adore it.
The mustard yellow plays so well off the burnt orange tones, and it keeps most of the focus on that beautifully patterned bed. So smart and so pretty!
9. Shop Around For A Luxurious Boho Furniture Set
Boho interior design can be surprisingly versatile, and this stylish and refined bedroom is the perfect proof. I love how the custom platform bed and headboard have a similar shape to a pallet bed frame, but using high-end materials like solid walnut makes it feel so much more luxurious.
The same wood was used to build a bench, two blocky modern end tables, and a custom wall hanging, making the entire suite feel custom and bespoke. Just beautiful!
10. Boho-Style Room with Organic Materials
Boho is such an eclectic design style, and it relies so heavily on natural materials and organic elements. I love that even though the individual pieces in this room are simple, they combine to give the space an incredibly layered look.
Decorative items like a macrame wall hanging and that rattan chair and planter bring so much yummy texture into the space, while neutral, patterned textiles give the room a super cozy feel.
And an assortment of plants helps the bedroom feel fresh and lively!
11. Creative Design
I really LOVE these colors! The orange bedspread pairs so nicely with the red curtains and all the green plants hanging above the bed.
Those black walls are such a great background to let the bold colors stand out without making the whole room seem disorganized. Dramatic and lovely, right!?
12. Add Creative Window Coverings
There is something so charming about tying the curtains at the ends to set a relaxed, bohemian mood.
The room that results gives off a wispy and calming vibe that allows all that natural light to highlight the pops of color in the throw blanket. What a great idea!
13. Buy Boho Decorations For Your Dorm Room
While people from all generations can appreciate boho decor, this youthful design style is especially popular with college students.
I think it’s because students tend to be in flux as they move from their parents’ homes to dorm rooms and then into apartments, which fits with the nomadic bohemian lifestyle. Boho decor also tends to be quite cost-effective.
Using it is a simple and effective way to bring some personality into your dorm room without breaking the bank!
14. Luxury Boho Bedroom with Muted Colors
While the boho color palette is never flashy, it often uses subtly striking hues like bright white or terra cotta to catch the eye. Neutrals are a huge part of a boho color scheme, but they usually fade into the background while contrasting colors take center stage.
For a more sophisticated take on this design, you can flip the script and stick only to muted neutral tones. In this chic monochromatic room, pieces with texture like a round jute rug and bell-shaped wicker pendant really jump out!
15. Pretty Bohemian Room Color Schemes
From the books on the shelf to the beautiful blue color on one wall, this eclectic room makes such a bold statement.
I love adding bohemian embellishments with hints of metallic and gold to pull it all together. It creates such a warm and inviting space.
16. Holiday Decorating
Even though it’s decorated for the holidays, this room has so many great bohemian decor accents! I adore the pallet board bed frame and those pretty hanging plants.
The fairy lights strung all around just illuminate the many details and must look amazing, especially at night.
17. Modern Boho Bed Frame and Accessories
At its heart, boho is such an eclectic and flexible design style. Even if a piece of furniture doesn’t scream bohemian on its own, it can fit seamlessly into a boho room.
I love how the nightstand in this bedroom has an almost futuristic feel with its blocky metal handles. However, its neutral colors make it feel right at home here.
The pallet bed frame has an almost contemporary profile, but because of its inexpensive materials, it still feels perfectly laid-back.
18. Showcase Your Personal Flair
What a great idea! This makeshift headboard adds such a personal touch to the room by showcasing a ton of books and paintbrushes.
It also doubles as extra storage but still looks so neat because all the pages are facing outward, showing only one color. So clever!
19. Inviting Bedroom
I love adding a rug to create a cozy atmosphere. When you pair it with natural, warm colors, you get such an inviting tone.
Keeping the color scheme simple is a great way to let the bold colors play off the more muted tones. To me, this is charming and inviting in the best possible way.
20. White and Grey Bedroom Decor
Because all the items in this bohemian room are in shades of white, there’s a real emphasis placed on the textures and styles in the accents.
You can see it in the feathers in one corner and the woven baskets in the other. It’s such a soothing look!
21. Use Tassels
This bohemian room uses a tasseled chandelier to spice things up and draw your eyes right to it!
I think it matches the chic half-circle mirror hanging above the bed perfectly and adds just enough character to make it feel so homey. So pretty!
22. Take A Minimalist Approach
This boho room has several interesting architectural details, including a beamed ceiling and an arched wall niche with exposed whitewashed brick. Going too heavy on the decor would take away from these points of interest instead of highlighting them.
I love how the designer in this serene bedroom kept the color scheme minimal, instead using textiles to introduce subtle textures and patterns into the space. Sometimes less is truly more.
23. Framing The Room
This bedroom has such a clear focal point! The bed is positioned right between the darker gray wall color and underneath that gorgeous woven tapestry.
The metallic chandelier adds dimension and plays off the colors in the plants so well. It’s a winner in my book.
24. Simple Decor Ideas
I adore how the side lamps showcase the golden threads in the comforter and pillows while casting such a warm glow.
These accents complement the patterned woven room rug so nicely and add just the right touches of bohemian décor. Simple and beautiful!
25. Add A Bed Canopy
When you think of a canopy bed, you might picture something dramatic and romantic with lots of stiff fabric. But in this bedroom, you can see a boho spin on a more traditional setup!
Instead of a bulky bedframe, the tasseled fabric is suspended from the ceiling for a more laid-back, casual feel. Because the fabric is bright white and semi-sheer, it doesn’t block the abundant natural light in the space. I love it!
26. Tribal Prints
I am super attracted to the decor and styling here. The throw blanket and rug add such great pops of color against the white walls.
Keeping the rest of the room simple allows for the tribal prints to take front stage and become the main talking piece of the room. It’s a great pop of color in what would otherwise be a very neutral room!
27. Cool Boho Vibes For Girl’s Bedroom
This eccentric girly room has so many charming hints of bohemian features. I think the black accent wall provides a perfect natural background for all the chic furnishings.
And the wall décor can be easily replaced to grow up over time. Such a great idea!
28. Choose Earthy Boho Tones
Boho design doesn’t have the strictest color palette, but there are some general guidelines you usually want to follow. When putting your color scheme together, you’ll be looking for a mix of neutral and earthy hues.
You can also blend both warm and cool tones in the space, just like you would find in nature. Here, the natural wood furniture feels so much richer with accents like that earthy green botanical wallpaper.
29. Simple and Trendy
Don’t you want to just snuggle into this bed?! By placing it directly on the floor, it becomes so easy to crawl in after a long day.
The cozy atmosphere is highlighted by the poofy comforter and that cute tasseled wall hanging. Heaven!
30. Mix and Match Patterns
This room has so many yummy layers with the use of multiple colorful patterns on the wall, the bedspread, and all those throw pillows.
I also love how cultural elements are added in with the numerous cups on the bookshelf and that dangling chandelier.
31. Simple Boho Style Decor
An all-white bedroom is the perfect complement to light wood, and it leaves the statement piece to be the duvet. Then, small accents like plants can liven up the space and bring color to the room. This is simplicity done right!
32. Get Creative with A Textured Wall
If you move into a home with imperfections, you won’t always have the time or budget to fix them right away. But, you can use your decor to make these flaws feel deliberate and even beautiful!
Instead of putting a traditional bed frame against an exposed concrete wall with lots of patina, you can construct your own pallet bed out of unfinished wood.
This makes the wall feel more like an intentional feature than an unfinished afterthought. You can complete the look with a simple wood floating shelf and a DIY headboard that incorporates plywood and leather straps into the design.
33. Funky Boho Canopy
What a statement! The colorful canopy made of red, yellow, and pink hues frames the bed and gives the space so much visual stimulation.
I adore that the bedspread has hints of color found in the canopy, tying the whole room together beautifully.
34. Small Boho Bedroom
Great things definitely come in small packages! You can make a small corner space so much more inviting by using a light fabric as a makeshift canopy.
And adding a dangling plant with rope helps to open the room up and make it seem bigger. Every detail is perfection!
35. Invest in Natural Elements
If you’ve shopped for new furniture recently, you might have noticed a lot of new pieces are made from particle board or engineered wood instead of solid wood. The reason is simple: cost.
Wood is a renewable resource, but because it takes so long to grow, there is still a scarcity factor that makes it more expensive than manmade materials.
Engineered wood furniture isn’t as durable or scratch-resistant as real wood, but it’s much less expensive. If you have the money to spare though, I think it’s better to invest in real wood furniture.
Not only will it hold up physically for many more years, but it also tends to be more timeless in style.
36. A Vibrant Bedroom
Dark flooring can be such a great backdrop for vibrant colors to pop.
The bright pink blanket over the bed and the white area rug create a bold contrast against the navy-blue carpeting and different textiles. t all makes for a beautiful, timeless look.
37. Dark Accent Wall
I love how the navy-blue wall elongates the room, making it appear bigger and drawing attention to the wood bed frame and white bedspread. The added turquoise seat and patterned rug bring in so much lovely movement.
38. Build A Gallery Shelf
A boho-style bedroom is such an attractive design, offering an unfussy sensibility with elegant decor. Hanging art can be a frustrating process because it requires careful attention to placement, which is the opposite of the boho mentality.
So instead of plotting out a gallery wall, try a gallery shelf instead! Here, a simple wooden floating shelf holds overlapping pieces of framed artwork and other decorative pieces.
As a bonus, it’s incredibly easy to swap out and rearrange pieces on a gallery shelf so you can always keep your space feeling fresh.
39. Use Bamboo
The natural tones of the side table mix so well with the tassels above the bed and the beige pillows.
I also love how the green tones of the comforter and plants add more variety to give the space a totally cohesive look. Every detail is just right!
40. Pallet Board Bed Frame
Turning pallet boards into a bed frame is such an easy DIY, and it gives the room a wonderful bohemian vibe.
I adore how the warm tones of the wood go together so nicely with the pink of the windowsill and the red on the walls. So cozy!
41. Chic Headboard
I love this look! The wooden décor expertly matches the headboard to create a base pallet where all the detailing can be highlighted. This technique creates such great variance and movement as you look around the room.
42. Incorporate Elegant Wall Decor
Boho design tends to be relaxed and unfussy, but you can definitely go a little bolder and more dramatic with it, too. This bedroom features a trio of oversized wall art, including a rope-wrapped mirror, all of which make a big stylistic statement.
The size and volume of these pieces are echoed by the fluffy sheepskin seat of the otherwise sleek midcentury chair. So yummy!
43. Boho Wall Decor
Bohemian bedrooms are the perfect place to showcase recent travels.
Here, the gold accents tie in bright fuchsia pink and tangy orange to create a vibrant, bohemian space while capturing a Middle Eastern culture. There is so much I love about this style!
44. Gorgeous Scandinavian Meets Bohemian Style
With its textured stone walls and steeply angled ceiling, this bedroom could easily feel cold and institutional. But bringing lots of textured wood into the space instantly makes the room feel more organic and inviting.
Pieces like a primitive end table and wide wooden ceiling beams have a rustic appeal, while design elements like a slat wall have more of a crisp Scandinavian modern feel.
Then, textured decor like a woven rug and rattan pendant lamp bring in all the boho vibes. What a beautiful balance!
45. White Wonderland
This all-white room sets such a beautiful base for the smaller details to shine. I love that the pallet board bed frame, the dream catchers, and the woven wall hangings create interest and capture that true bohemian essence. So dreamy!
46. Southwest Bohemian Vibes
I love every detail of this bedroom! The muted terracotta brown walls resemble an adobe hut. The plants, detailed circle mirror, and the carved wooden piece above the bed add in more texture and variety for a perfectly earthy vibe.
47. Designate Areas with Accents
A big rug is a great way to distinguish one area from another, especially in a large room.
This beautiful bohemian rug makes such a bold statement against the remaining neutral colors and clearly marks the sleeping space. This is a winner in my book!
48. Gallery Wall For Personal Style
I am a HUGE fan of using framed pictures to display personal memories or meaningful artwork.
If you keep the prints and frames within a color theme, it makes everything feel cohesive with the rest of the décor in the room. This is such a great way to add a personal touch.
49. Contrasting Colors
This white bedding adds just the right amount of coziness with its oversized plush comforter.
I love how a salt lamp illuminates this corner while playing off the reds in the tapestries, the side table, and that cute elephant throw pillow. It all feels so warm and inviting.
50. Keep It Natural
I adore how the wooden staircase and white canopy frame the bed, while those woven baskets add a creative flair. This room kept it simple by leaving the pop of color for the rug, and the result is so fresh and inviting.
51. Tapestry Headboard
Tapestries are so great for allowing a large space to be divided into smaller sections. I love that the bed is placed on the floor to keep the focus on those bold, beautiful prints. Such a dramatic statement!
52. Black Colored Design
It takes a strong sense of style to paint bedroom walls pure black! Ample amounts of natural light create a bright space despite the dark walls.
The white-clothed canopy and bedspread also help in making the room feel spacious. And adding a mirror above the bed to reflect even more light? Genius!
53. Hang Fairy Lights
This boho bedroom is just flooded with natural light during the day, but as the sun goes down it needs other lighting solutions. Introducing layered lighting into a room can help you set the right mood, no matter the time of day!
A bamboo pendant light will fill the space with a warm light bright enough to reach every corner, while woven wall sconces provide more targeted light for reading.
Finally, a tangle of fairy lights draped on the wall shelf will make the space feel cozy and intimate. Just beautiful!
54. Cultural Roots
I love how the bold tapestry above the bed adds a focal point to the room. It plays off the red in the comforter while displaying traditional Asian roots.
The dark wood furniture sets also give it an older, more established feel. So rich and warm!
55. Chic Duvet For Modern Bedding
This is transitional done right! The grey patterned bedspread matches the black and white photos on one wall and doesn’t take away from the curtains framing the window. It’s a lovely, balanced look.
56. Pom-Pom Power
The bold and bright pops of color give so much movement to this room! I love everything from the pom-pom pillow on the bed to the string of them hanging from the bed frame and the plant holder. It’s all so fun and charming.
57. Whimsical Bedroom
I think canopies are such a great way to establish an airy feel in a room, and this one does just that with its light fabric. The all-white theme really helps in keeping that dream-like state. So peaceful and pretty!
58. Maximize Small Spaces with Bohemian Design
Even though this porch is small, it holds so much detail and character.
I adore how the colorful throw pillows sit on top of woven furniture pieces, while the red rug and tribal wall print bring the whole room together. Small space, big impact!
59. Colorful Decor Ideas
The pops of color really add to the character of this room, including the chairs in the corner and that blue and yellow print.
And did you see how gold has been added to the walls halfway? It makes the space feel smaller and cozier despite the tall ceilings. What a cool idea!
60. White Boho Bedding
The white bedding here makes way for the elephant pillow and tapestry to become the focal point in this room. And can we talk about those two pieces? They are so intricately detailed and provide so much amazing texture and color!
61. Metallic Detailing
This metallic chandelier totally steals the show! I love how it contrasts with the other textures, like the shaggy throw at the end of the bed, the leather handbag, and the terracotta pots. It’s such a perfect mix of glam and rustic.
62. Nautical Themed Boho Bedroom
I love every detail of this room! The bamboo rods hold together a lightweight canopy and tie in the rustic wooden piece above the bed.
This room gives off the perfect airy feeling with its repurposed furniture and clean white tones. So lovely!
63. Use Natural Light
The natural light streaming in through the windows here accentuates the clean lines and provides a suitable atmosphere for the plants at the front of the bed.
I find that bright light can often make a décor-packed room appear cleaner because the room seems bigger than it really is. It keeps everything so light and bright!
64. Ceiling Swing
This woven swing is the perfect looking spot for someone to glance around this bohemian room. I love how the orange tones offset the woven fabrics and play so well with the plants to create a cohesive look. How fun is that?!
65. Feature Classic Boho Furniture
While some furniture retailers carry new pieces, classic boho design often uses vintage furniture whenever possible.
I love that secondhand furniture is both affordable and sustainable, which are qualities that tend to appeal to people who love the boho style. Look for pieces with clean lines that are made from organic materials like wood, leather, and rattan.
66. Pull The Eyes Up
Hanging tassels near the top of the ceiling draws the eye upward without populating the rest of the room and making it feel messy.
And the bohemian décor is woven through with that black and white tapestry and patterned bedspread. Every detail is just so charming!
67. Add Little Details
A woven wall hanging is perfect for adding a little detail and texture into a bohemian room. This one is so elegant and doesn’t take attention away from the colorful bedspread. It’s the perfect touch!
68. Tropical Boho Style
I adore how this chic room effortlessly ties in the dramatic tropical scenes by using bright flowered patterns. The tropical theme is kept from being too overbearing with a trendy white bed frame and nightstand. It’s the perfect balance!
69. Bohemian Rainforest Décor
The rainforest theme is carried out so well throughout this space, from the elephant accent above the bed to the hanging vines that act as a canopy.
And all the color is added by the parrots and other tropical birds. It’s so imaginative and fun!
70. Comfortable Bedroom Space
Placing two beds together at a point forms a great hangout corner, which can be converted into a sleeping area for the night. I love how the two hanging tapestries resemble a tent-like condition. So cozy and inviting!
71. Hang A Hammock
It’s very common to see woven pieces of decor like macrame wall hangings and knit throws in a boho bedroom. This textural element can also come into play in more practical pieces of furniture.
These hammock chairs bring a lot of visual texture into this bedroom and are a cool and casual place to kick back with a book.
Since the chairs are suspended from the ceiling instead of mounted on legs, they also make the room feel so much airier. What a great idea!
72. Bohemian Textures
This natural look is highlighted with rustic wood panels on the wall and a frayed blanket splayed on the bed.
I love how these textures partner so well with leafy plants and contrast against the two black nightstands. There is something so soothing about this look.
73. Create A Cozy Bedroom with Cute Wall Decor
If your room has an interesting architectural feature like a wall niche, factoring it into your decor plans can give it such a cozy vibe. The headboard of this bed fits perfectly inside the niche, making the bed feel snug and tucked away.
A simple wooden shelf above the headboard holds an array of eclectic deco. The wall niche is painted a solid color which helps it stand apart from the patterned wallpaper, making it even more of a focal point.
74. Use Plants To Make A Statement
The forest green mixed with the turquoise contrasts so nicely against the white walls. And adding in the headboard made of plants and thick hanging vines makes this room bohemian all the way through. It’s so dramatic and yummy!
75. Wooden Wall Decor
The plants and wall decorations give this room such a great bohemian vibe, while the vibrant bedspread is the focal point against the jewel-toned walls.
I adore how the wood hanging from the ceiling forms a backdrop for the plants and lights to hang from. Just gorgeous!
76. Boho Plants
I love that the color palette here is kept simple to allow for the plant theme to take front and center. You see it through the cacti hangings on the wall and the palm plant in the corner.
And the subtle hints of blush scattered throughout are a perfect complementary hue.
77. Feature Green Plants In Your Decor
Bringing live plants into your home is a great way to breathe new life into any design style, but it is especially important in boho decor.
Live plants are right at home with the organic materials used in boho furniture and decor, and they thrive in the ample natural light that is inherent to the bohemian ethos.
In this room, an abundance of leafy green plants has an almost jewel-tone-like effect against the white and neutral palette of the space. It’s fresh and inviting!
78. Rustic Influence
I am a HUGE fan of reclaimed wood to generate a bohemian vibe.
Here, the theme coordinates with the hanging print to tie in with the hide throw over the bed frame and the Moroccan pouf seats at the end of the bed. All in all, I really love this space.
79. Brick Background
Using a neutral color palette is a great way to allow the details in a bohemian room to pop. I love how the palm plant in a corner plays off the pink throw blanket as they are set against the clean white. So pretty and simple!
80. Boho Style Accent Details
This intricately detailed headboard goes together so nicely with the patterned throw blanket and colorful pillows. It is the perfect focal point of the room and adds so much character and cultural interest. I adore every detail!
81. Natural Color Scheme
I think the golden chandelier plays off the intricate headboard and contrasts with the plants along the back wall so beautifully.
And it doesn’t come across as being too overpowering since everything is tied together with a simple color palette. Stunning!
82. Textured Decor
The throw pillows on the bed add so much dimension and color to the room, while the headboard and hide throw blanket add softer elements. I also love how the fern and other plants add into the earthy tones. Such a great mix of textures!
