I have been searching for shower tile inspiration lately. Ever since we started planning our bathroom update, I have wanted to change the look of our walk in shower but have struggled with what would be both beautiful and practical.
This means I have spent hours looking for something to spark an idea. The result is I have found some incredibly beautiful spaces and today, I thought I would share what I think are the most amazing shower tile ideas.
1. Bring Nature Indoors With Bold Tile Choices

I know a bathroom without windows can feel a little dark, but this is such a clever solution! The beautiful green tiles just liven up the whole space and give it an amazing feeling of nature.
I absolutely love how placing the tiles vertically creates a soothing waterfall effect. It just adds to the wonderful pastoral feel of this room.
2. Mix Genres For Unique Styling

This is a perfect example of what I love…mixing styles to create a space with tons of character! I adore the way the sleek white geometric tiles and shiny gold fixtures look next to the rustic wood beams.
Juxtaposing these different styles results in a look that is completely one-of-a-kind. Just stunning!
3. Use Rich Tones To Invoke Strong Style

There is something about this bathroom that makes me think of a beautiful painting. I love that it doesn’t shy away from using deep, dark tones to create a sleek and masculine mood.
Wrapping the shower in those staggered panel tiles is a great way to elongate the space, and the earth-toned mosaic strips add the perfect contrast.
4. Make Monochrome More Exciting By Mixing Patterns

Isn’t this just yummy! This subtle salmon pink shower has such a surprising visual impact, and it’s all thanks to those contrasting tile patterns.
I think the large rectangular tiles in a herringbone pattern on the shower wall are so beautiful. And the small, square mosaic tiles in the niche? A winning combination in my book.
5. Create A Spa-Like Environment With Faux Wood Shower Tiles

I am a huge fan of incorporating wood into home decor, but it can be so impractical in a shower. That’s why I think these engineered wood tiles are fantastic!
They bring in those warm colors and subtle faux grain patterns and create a style that is so easy to keep clean. Pairing them with a rainfall shower head and some shower-safe plants gives this space a soothing, Zen feel that I adore.
6. Let There Be Light and Color

Wow! How beautiful is this bathroom?! It makes the most of its skylight by centering it over a stunning feature wall of graphic blue Tunisian tiles.
I love how the more subtle textures of the mottled gray marble floors and white subway-tiled ceiling let this amazing wall be the star of the show. So clever!
7. Faux Wood Wall Tiles For A Rustic Modern Look

Using faux wooden wall tiles is such a beautiful way to layer rich tones and textures into a design. I love that unlike real wood, they hold up so well to the steam and humidity from baths and showers.
The natural light in this room is also key, keeping the dark tones from feeling too overwhelming.
8. Highlight Features With Custom Tile

This is such a sleek, modern shower! It has two recessed niches for toiletries, and I adore how the backs feature a chic gray mosaic pattern that really makes them pop.
The adjacent shower wall with a larger version of the same mosaic is a great detail that ties it all together.
9. Go For The Gold With Glitzy Mosaic Wall Tiles

Oh how I love a little vintage glamor in a bathroom! Creating a luxe feature wall with these gold foiled mosaic tiles adds such chic elegance with all that sheen and luster.
It’s also such a clever way to create the illusion of light in a bathroom that might not have any windows. Such a great idea!
10. Combine Multiple Styles For A Unique Look

I am a huge fan of mixing styles, and this bathroom just proves why! The contemporary feel from the angular lines of the subway tiles and paned shower divider is so cool.
Juxtaposing those sharp shapes against the more ornate French Provincial-style floor tiles creates a look that’s anything but cookie-cutter.
That black and white design with rustic accents gives it an effortlessly chic and modern finish. Perfection.
11. Add A Pop of Color With A Whimsical Inset

The large gray tiles in this shower give the room a modern, industrial vibe that I think is really neat. But that inset with circles in different shades of gray and blue is what really stopped me in my tracks!
It brings in such a unique style element that plays so well off the angled ceiling. I just love it.
12. Design Is All About the Details

This modern bathroom has such an elegant backdrop with its large rectangular tiles in rich brown hues. But it’s the little things that make it special!
I love the dual mosaic wall panels, and the small squares bordering the mirror are such a neat feature that continues the detailing from the mosaic.
13. Simply Sublime Scandinavian Design

The open layout and bright, airy colors of this chic bathroom are just classic Scandinavian style. I adore how the tan veining in the marble shower walls perfectly complements the neutral faux wood floor tiles.
And you know me, adding plants to the open shelving to bring in a natural element is always a winner in my book!
14. Scale Shower Tiles To Suit Your Space

This bathroom is so spacious and I love how it uses large-scale features to fill it up, like the oversized vanity and that luxurious soaking tub.
Using large rectangular tiles on the walls and floor is a great way to balance the proportions of the room and create a really smooth visual flow.
15. Use Tile To Tie Together Disparate Spaces

A large bathroom with a segmented layout like this could feel really choppy, but the solution here is just so clever. Wrapping white subway tile across all the walls creates a wonderful sense of flow.
I also love that the white hexagonal floor tile is used again in the shower niche, which just adds to the feeling of continuity.
16. Modern Farmhouse Bathroom Decor

I love every detail of this bathroom! The floor-to-ceiling white subway tile in this modern farmhouse bathroom looks so sharp and contemporary against that wood grain ceiling.
And can we talk about the black grout? It’s perfect!
The black tile with white grout on the floors provides a contrast that makes the pattern pop. Using different shaped tiles with a limited color scheme is a great way to add texture without overwhelming a small space.
17. Be Bold With Contrasting Tile Patterns

I absolutely love to mix patterns in unexpected ways! This eclectic bathroom features such a diverse assortment, from the striped shower curtain to the toile wallpaper and the floral tile pattern on the floor.
The key here is that the simple subway tiles and limited color palette keep the design from feeling too cluttered or overdone. It’s just right.
18. Floor Everyone With Your Design Choices

If your bathroom is on the smaller side, you don’t have to shy away from patterns! I love the idea of putting a striking tile pattern on the floor and pairing it with monochromatic walls.
This adds so much style and pizzazz while creating the illusion of a bigger space. Genius!
19. Create Visual Interest By Mixing Shapes

The large, rectangular tiles in this shower have such a chic and classic look. But the inset of smaller hexagonal tiles adds a contrasting visual element and a modern edge that I just adore.
I think using coordinating shades of gray and crisp white is the perfect way to create continuity between the different shapes.
20. Bold Bathroom Tile Designs

Okay, how cool is this? This unique bathroom really plays with perceptions. The graphic blue and white floral tile that extends from the floor up the sides of the bathtub creates this amazing wraparound effect.
I love how the textured wood vanity and gold fixtures pop against such an unexpected feature. Just beautiful!
21. Use Textures When Tiling For A Rustic Look

This urban bathroom is so compelling because it breaks the mold. Instead of smooth wall tiles, it features a roughly-textured brick wall.
I also love how the eclectic floor tiles are arranged in a deliberately haphazard pattern, which brings another layer of textile-inspired texture to this understated room.
22. Combine Warm and Cool Tones

Isn’t this just stunning?! This chic, modern bathroom features large marble tiles that combine deep gray and warm goldenrod hues.
This balance of tones, along with the details and texture in the tiles, makes it feel like beams of light are filtering throughout the space. It’s so dreamy.
23. Put A Twist On Terrazzo With This Wall Application

I think Terrazzo is such a cool material. It’s usually used on floors, but I love this twist of using it to create a bold feature wall.
The black tiles on the shower floor and in the inset are a great stylistic nod to the focal wall and tie everything together perfectly.
24. Subtle Color Gradations Evoke Upscale Design

I love a good chevron feature wall to anchor a design. This is such an unconventional take on that trend, using tiles without a lot of contrast for a more minimalist version.
The subtle swirls in the marble shower tiles segue so smoothly into the chevron pattern, creating a wonderful sense of fluidity.
25. Repeat Tile Motifs Throughout The Bathroom

There is nothing I don’t love about this Moroccan-inspired bathroom! The hexagonal mosaic shower wall in rich earth tones is just gorgeous.
And I think repeating that pattern next to the mirror is a fantastic way to create continuity throughout the space. Every detail is perfection!
26. Contemporary Shower Design Style

I know a long, narrow bathroom can sometimes feel crowded. That’s why I think using the same, understated tile throughout the space is such a great idea.
It makes the room feel more spacious and upscale. The large cement tiles in a cool gray shade really help amplify the proportions in this segmented space.
27. Give Monochrome A Glow-Up With Subtle Sheen

This monochromatic bathroom is surprisingly elegant, and it’s all about the luxe finishes. I absolutely love how the gleaming chrome fixtures play so beautifully against the glossy gray marble tiles.
The silver metallic vase is just the right touch of burnished shine to complete the look.
28. Customize Your Shower With Creative Insets

I love every detail of this shower! The glossy gray wall tiles give it a chic look, but it’s the details that really make it stand out.
The gray and blue mosaic floor tiles provide some subtle contrast, but for me, it’s those chevron insets that make this shower truly one-of-a-kind. Heaven!!
29. Use Muted Tones For An Unconventional Take On Moroccan Style

This is by far one of my favorite looks. The floor-to-ceiling whitewashed brick walls give this shower a North African feel that is so beautiful, especially with the mosaic detailing under the showerhead.
I also adore how the gray and white floor tiles and a metal garden stool add even more layers of texture.
30. Pair Contemporary Tiles With Vintage Fixtures

I’m so drawn to the details in this sleek, modern shower. The light gray tiles that pick up the natural light from the windows are just lovely.
What I love most, though, is how the vintage-style showerhead and old-fashioned faucets add such a custom element to the design. It’s a great mix.
31. Build A Strong Design Concept With Cement Tiles

What a cool modern bathroom! Pairing sleek ceramic fixtures with rough-hewn concrete tiles is such an unexpected element.
It adds an edgy industrial feel to this space, but I think the abundance of natural light keeps it from feeling too sterile. It’s the perfect balance.
32. Use Conventional Materials In Unconventional Ways

You guys know I love faux wood floors in bathrooms because they don’t warp. But using that same faux wood flooring to develop a feature wall is just brilliant!
I love that the panels are longer than traditional wall tiles, which is a great trick to help a narrow bathroom feel more spacious.
33. Square Up Your Style

There is something about this moody bathroom that I just love. The square wall tiles in various textured tones of gray and blue are so interesting, and continuing that motif onto the sleek shower bench is a great touch.
And those gray geometric floor tiles and gold fixtures? They add the perfect elegant, contrasting elements.
34. Make Monochrome Magical By Playing With Shapes

I know that a small bathroom can feel so much larger with a floor-to-ceiling cream color scheme. What I love about this space is that while the floor tiles are large and uniform, the wall tiles feature a mixture of sizes.
This pattern variation adds such a lovely visual interest in a sublimely subtle way. It’s so well done.
35. Cover All The Angles

This contemporary bathroom has some really striking rectangular features, like the floating sink, shelving, and mirror.
I think wrapping subway tiles around the shower walls to carry that same shape throughout the bathroom is just genius. The overall effect is so crisp, sharp, and modern. Love it!
36. Use Natural Stone Tiles For A Beachy Chic Look

The muted color scheme in this bathroom is such an elegant take on a beach theme. The shower combines three different tile designs in shades of tan and taupe that just make me think of sand and seashells.
And the muted blue-gray walls that hint at the sea? So soothing and beautiful.
37. Play With Unusual Color Combinations

I don’t know that I would have thought to pair sleek black shower tiles with delicate lilac paint, but it’s such an interesting balance of traditionally masculine and feminine colors.
I love how the gleaming silver chrome fixtures tie together the cool tones in each shade. It works so perfectly!
38. Add Visual Texture With Decorative Tile Inlays

I am so drawn to the European feel of this bathroom, with its large marble shower tiles. The Italian Carrara basketweave inlay really builds on that theme beautifully.
I think it’s so clever how the subtle gray veining in the larger marble pieces is picked up in the inlay feature, providing a lovely sense of continuity.
39. Know Your Angles

This shower stall feels so fresh and modern, and it’s all about the judicious use of angles. I love how the floating wall bench and angular inset play so nicely off the rectangular wall tiles.
The small square mosaic floor tiles add just the right amount of texture without losing any sharpness. Cabinet perfection!
40. Showcase Your Tile With An Open Shower

A large shower like this is just framed to display tile to its best advantage! The brown wall tiles are a neutral color, but I love how their varying sizes create such an interesting pattern.
And echoing the earthy, multicolored mosaic tiles from the shower floor in the backsplash above the sink is just a winning touch.
41. Get Vintage Vibes With A Luxe Logo

Isn’t this just so clever?! This whimsical bathroom totally evokes a classic hotel feel, and it’s all because of that tile inset arranged like a logo.
I especially love how the scrollwork motif in the logo is amplified and repeated on the shower floor and by the bathtub. Such a great idea!
42. Fill Up Large Spaces With Striking Patterns

This minimalist bathroom may have just a few fixtures, but it comes with a super stylish design. The freestanding tub is perfectly highlighted by those graphic black and white floor tiles and the dimensional white brick wall.
And the black powder-coated window frames add another strong style element that I just adore.
43. Charming Walk-In Shower Floor Tile Scheme

I love the idea of selecting simple finishes, like white subway tiles for your walk-in shower walls, because it gives you so much room to play with patterns elsewhere.
The grayscale diamond pattern on this floor provides a stunning focal point and makes this wet room feel even more spacious. So charming!
44. Design Visual Texture By Layering Patterns

This large, bright bathroom feels surprisingly cozy, and it’s all because of the multiple tile patterns! The shower wall features a sleek, white chevron pattern, which is so pretty.
I also love how the smaller, square tiles on the shower floor continue with neutral tones into the large, hexagonal tiles on the main bathroom floor. It all comes together beautifully.
45. Create An Exotic Vignette With A Striking Tile Inset

I know Arabesque tile is used a lot in modern design, but it also has roots in classic Arabic style, which I just love.
This Moroccan-influenced tile insert adds so much visual texture with its earthy brown tones and curvilinear patterns. It’s a really beautiful touch.
46. Manufacture Contrast With Bold Accents

I think fitting a smaller shower with mostly white tiles is a great way to make the space feel brighter and more roomy. And adding small hints of a contrasting color really tells a design story.
The black stripes on the walls and the floral pattern on the floor are such simple yet bold style elements that work perfectly.
47. Blue Tiles Bring Beachy Beauty

Oh, I just love this! The swirls in this blue glass tile inset bring a sense of movement that totally evokes the ocean. And the gray stone wall tiles that mimic the sandy shore are the perfect complement.
The final result is a beautiful, abstract take on the seashore that feels so fresh.
48. Colorful Shower Wall Tile Pattern

The warm orange-hued tones in this design are definitely a less-conventional choice for a bathroom, but I think it works so well!
The narrow, vertical tiles spilling down the wall neatly evoke the image of falling water, which makes it such a clever and beautiful idea.
49. Install Wall-To-Wall Tiles For A Whimsical Wet Room

I am so in love with this clever wet room and how it uses tiles to amplify its unusual features.
Blanketing the walls with white subway tiles and covering the inset shelves, a long bench, and even the curved ceiling is just genius. It creates such a cohesive and whimsical look.
50. Show Off Your Shower With Subtle Textures

When you have a shower this elegant, it should absolutely be the centerpiece of your bathroom! I adore how the pony wall around the shower is wrapped in an understated marble.
It plays so beautifully off the textured wallpaper behind the twin vanities. Just lovely.
51. Play With Expectations By Changing Orientation

I know white subway tiles are a common feature in bathrooms, but they are almost always installed horizontally. That’s why I love this design!
These vertical subway tiles subvert that common design paradigm. It’s a great trick to use in bathrooms with low ceilings because it really elongates the space.
52. Make The Most of Your Light With Natural Colors

There is something so soothing about the hues in this bathroom. They perfectly amplify the natural light streaming in through the window.
I love how the warm undertones in the gray wall tiles play so well off of the wooden floor slats. And that mosaic waterfall inlay adds such a lovely focal point. Just gorgeous!
53. Balance Dark Wood With Hues of Cream and White

The creamy marble tiles on the shower walls and inset of this airy bathroom look so rich against the crisp white of the bathroom and countertop.
I really love how the dark wood vanity creates a strong contrasting element that grounds the entire space. It’s the perfect balance.
54. Select Simple Tiles To Help Other Decorative Features Shine

Sometimes you need to let one feature be the star of the show. In this chic bathroom, it’s the marble slab that tops the built-in shower bench.
The sleek and simple subway tile is just understated enough to let that feature be the focal point. And I love how the gray tile and white grout echo the colors in the marble, creating a wonderful sense of flow and continuity.
55. Amplify Light With High-Gloss Finishes

The gleaming gray glass tiles in this space have such a luminous quality, and it’s all because of the natural light that filters through.
I think the matte metallic finish on the faucets is a perfect choice to ground the design and give it a lovely, earthy touch.
56. Use Tones and Textures To Set The Mood

This ultra-masculine shower brings together contrasting materials in such a compelling way. A faux wooden tiled wall meets up with a textured stone wall, which creates a really interesting play on natural materials.
I also love how the stark overhead lighting highlights the dramatic black and gray tones.
57. Subtly Separate Spaces With Shifting Tile Patterns

At first glance, I thought this bathroom featured the same white subway tile throughout. But then I noticed that only the tiles in the main bathroom are plain white!
The shower tiles have a subtle, smoky pattern which is such a clever way to differentiate the shower from the rest of the space. It’s a great detail!
58. Mix Various Patterns To Make A Striking Statement

I love how small bathrooms can look so much bigger when you stick to a minimalist color palette, and this one is a perfect example! It has a simple black and white color scheme, but it is anything but boring.
The white subway tiles with black grout and the hexagonal shower floor tiles with white grout create such stylish contrasting colors and shapes.
And that patterned black and white floor tile? It adds a whole other layer of detail that is just so good!
59. Draw The Eye Upwards With Elongated Hexagon Tiles

You guys know hexagonal tiles are super on-trend right now, but they don’t always work with every design style. If you have a more modern aesthetic like I do, these two-toned elongated hexagon tiles are the perfect contemporary twist!
They are just ideal for narrow rooms and are a great trick for creating the illusion of more space. So clever!
60. Bring Nature Indoors With Stone Tiles

Don’t you just want to relax in this soothing, spa-like bathroom?! The floor tiles are so beautiful with their swirls of neutral browns and grays. I love how those same colors are picked up by the sandstone bricks on the wall.
Leaving the bricks rough-hewn to create a natural texture is such a genius touch that really brings the outdoors in. Heaven!
