I get it, you open a cabinet and it’s total chaos. We’ve all been there! But what if I told you that a super organized, functional kitchen isn’t just a dream?
I’ve pulled together some of my absolute favorite kitchen organization ideas that will completely change the game.
1. Tackling Under Sink Chaos
Okay, let’s talk about that space under the kitchen sink. For years, mine was a total black hole where cleaning supplies went to disappear. But that cabinet doesn’t have to be a forgotten zone!
While you probably don’t want to store food or cooking gear there, it’s the absolute perfect spot for all your cleaning supplies.
My favorite trick is to put everything in a carry-all caddy. That way, you can just grab the whole thing when you need it and tuck it away neatly when you’re done.
You can also hide your trash can under there, which is a brilliant way to keep it convenient but completely out of sight. It’s such a simple change that makes a huge difference.

2. Versatile Pegboards
Got some empty wall space? Let’s turn it into your kitchen’s command center with a pegboard. This is such a fantastic way to get a completely custom storage solution that clears your countertops of all those utensils.
You can have an organized kitchen that still keeps everything you need right at your fingertips.
When you’re thinking about using a pegboard, consider what items you need to organize. I love pegboards because they are total chameleons; you can make them work for almost anything, which makes decluttering so much easier.
Use different hooks, bins, or even small shelves that attach right to the board.
You can hang everything from your cutting boards and pans to your most-used cooking tools. A little basket can hold your spice jars or even mason jars with fresh herbs. You can even hook on a paper towel holder or add magnetic strips for your knives. The possibilities are endless!

3. Efficient Drawer Organization
Is there anything worse than opening a kitchen drawer to find one thing and having to dig through a tangled mess of utensils? You can fix this problem by giving each drawer a single purpose. Have one for your spice rack, one for cooking tools, and yes, even one for all that miscellaneous stuff.
Bring order to the chaos with drawer organizers. You can find dividers made from plastic or bamboo, and I definitely recommend looking for adjustable ones so you can customize the layout.
There are also organizers designed for specific things, like a silverware tray or a spice rack insert, that are total lifesavers.

4. Functional Shelving Ideas
I know open shelving is having a huge moment in kitchen design right now, but shelves are also amazing inside your cabinets. For the most functional kitchen, I think it’s great to use a mix of shelving solutions.
Having shelves in different sizes lets you perfectly customize your storage for whatever you need to put on them. You can store your plastic containers, kitchen gadgets, cookie sheets, and even baking pans.
A Lazy Susan is another super useful tool for making smaller items on your shelves easy to get to.

5. Innovative Paper Towel Holders
For me, having paper towels close by is non-negotiable for keeping a clean and sanitary kitchen. We all know that kitchen linens can hold onto bacteria, and you don’t want to spread that around when you’re wiping your hands or surfaces.
You can mount your paper towel holder right under the cabinets, which is a fantastic way to get it off your counters. If that doesn’t work for your space and you need to keep them on a kitchen island, you can find some really beautiful holders that stand on their own.

6. Kitchen Organization Ideas for Optimizing Storage Space
Kitchen cabinets are easily the most popular organization idea, especially for small kitchens. I love them because you can hide all of your storage spaces away behind the doors. Cabinets are perfect for holding all sorts of things, from pot lids to mason jars.
If you have a small kitchen, you definitely want to make every inch of your cabinet space count. Try using the lower, roomier cabinets to store your small appliances.
And don’t waste that precious space on things like cutting boards. You can actually hang your boards on the kitchen walls and they double as really cool decor!

7. Streamlining Your Pantry
Keeping your kitchen pantry organized is so important to make sure food doesn’t get lost and forgotten. We all know how easy it is for things to get shoved to the back of a shelf, only to be found way past their expiration date.
You should tailor your pantry organization to the kinds of foods you store. For canned goods, a slanted rack is an absolute genius idea. The oldest can is always at the front, and they just roll forward as you use them.
For dry goods, it’s a must to use solid plastic or glass jars to keep pests away. Bins are also super useful for organizing smaller, individually wrapped things like snack foods.
